Abbotsford, BC – The Abbotsford Heat players will grow mustaches throughout the entire month of November in support of Movember, a month-long event aimed at raising funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
The entire Heat team has taken it upon themselves to help change the face of men’s health by growing mustaches for Movember and encourage fans to do the same. Second year captain Quintin Laing is vocal in his support of the cause “As a group we recognize the importance of supporting Movember as a cause that makes a lot of sense to a dressing room full of guys.”
The Heat encourages fans to submit photos of their own mustaches via the Abbotsford Heat Facebook Page, throughout Movember. Fans are also encouraged to make a donation by visiting www.abbotsfordheat.com/movember.
Funds raised will support the number-one male cancer, prostate cancer, through programs run by Movember and Prostate Cancer Canada. All funds will support a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with Movember’s strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.
“We are excited that a marquee, professional hockey team the likes of the Abbotsford Heat are embracing the hair of wild and growing their Mo’s for Movember. We hope fans check out their moustache journey or register and begin their own, by going to Movember.com. Together we can change the face of men’s health.” – Jesse Hayman, Movember Canada
