Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat and the Honda Way were proud to present KidSport with $5,823.65 today. As partners that are both committed to the community the Abbotsford Heat and the Honda Way partnered during the 2011-12 season to raise funds for KidSport through in-game Chuck-a-Puck promotions.
Abbotsford Heat President Ryan Walter summarised the grass-roots, community initiative saying, "We are proud of our partnership with Honda Way and very proud to support KidSport Abbotsford."
When asked about the impact that these monies have had Scott Hill, Director of KidSport Abbotsford commented, "Thanks to the generosity of the Abbotsford Heat and Honda Way children in our community will experience the positive impact of sport." Hill continued to say, "When we see the smiles on the faces of the children [like Caleb] it makes all the effort worthwhile."
11-year-old Caleb joined baseball this past year and when asked to reflect upon the positive experience that her son was afforded through KidSport Corinne Pahl said, "He seemed to be especially blessed having recently lost his 80-year-old old Pappou, a New Yorker who loved the Mets. We always said Pappou is watching you play from the best seats, in Heaven. He even has Pappou on his hat!"
