View from Pinder's Perch:
Kolanos's comeback campaign after a season and a half between games is perhaps the most inspiring story in Heat franchise history. Setting new club marks for goals, points and shots in a season - despite just 47 games played - is remarkable, but to do that coming off of microfracture hip surgery, at the age of 30, and entering camp on a try-out... It borders on miraculous. Kolanos not only earned a PTO, and an AHL deal, but was inked to a two-year NHL two-way deal with the Flames in February and played 13 games with the big club. Kolanos had two five-point games this season in the AHL and ranked among the best in points per contest.
