Abbotsford, BC – The Abbotsford Heat announced today the 2013-14 regular season schedule as released by the American Hockey League (AHL). The Heat will open the season on the road October 4th and 5th in Cleveland against the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL Affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche). The 2013-14 home opening weekend will be October 11th and 12th at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre (AESC) against the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL Affiliate of the Nashville Predators).

The Heat announced yesterday that the Utica Comets (AHL Affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks) will play six games at the AESC this regular season. The Comets will visit Abbotsford on the following dates:
• Friday, November 29th, 2013
• Saturday, November 30th, 2013
• Friday, January 24th, 2014
• Saturday, January 25th, 2014
• Friday, March 14th, 2014
• Saturday, March 15th, 2014

The 2013-14 season will also feature two games against the Toronto Marlies (AHL Affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) at the AESC, four visits from the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL Affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens), and four visits from West Division rival Oklahoma City Barons (AHL Affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers).

The Heat moved to the AHL West Division this season after a year in the North Division. This season the Heat will host their division rivals the Charlotte Checkers (AHL Affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes) twice at the AESC, the Texas Stars (AHL Affiliate of the Dallas Stars) four times, and the San Antonio Rampage (AHL Affiliate of the Florida Panthers) four times,.

The Heat will finish the regular season with road games in San Antonio on Thursday, April 17th and Friday, April 18th, followed by a visit to the Texas Stars on April 19th. The final day of the 2013-14 AHL regular season is April 20th, 2014.
