ROCKFORD DEFEAT HEAT 3-2

Rockford, IL – The Abbotsford Heat lost 3-2 to the Rockford IceHogs (AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks) at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Saturday night.

Krys Kolanos scored the first two goals of the game to give the Heat a 2-1 lead through 40 minutes, but the IceHogs scored a pair of third period even-strength markers to hand the Heat their third straight road loss.

The Heat opened the scoring on the power play with Krys Kolanos’ sixth goal of the season at 5:44 of the first period. Ben Street and T.J. Brodie each drew assists on the goal.

Abbotsford went up 2-0 later in the first period when Kolanos was set up by T.J. Brodie and Ben Walter for his second of the night at 16:32. Ben Smith scored for the IceHogs at 18:36 of the first, and the Heat led the game 2-1 after one period.
