Which Route to the AHL?

Of the 28 players on the Heat roster, 11 made their way to professional hockey through the NCAA. An equal number moved up the ranks through the WHL, while six plied their trade in the OHL and a single player graduated to pro hockey via the QMJHL.
 

Hot Home Point Streak

The Heat extended their home point streak to nine games last week. So far this season they have earned 16 of a possible 18 points at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre, scoring 31 goals on home ice, while allowing just 11 against.
 

Heat Origins

The majority of Abbotsford Heat players were born in Canada (17), while seven members of the Heat were eligible to vote in this month’s U.S. Presidential election. After that, the remaining roster members' origins are across the pond. A single player was born in each of England, Switzerland, Nigeria and the Czech Republic.

Walter Nears Another Record

Heat centreman Ben Walter is nearing another franchise record, having already earned the all-time assists record earlier this season. Walter is currently tied with Rampage winger Jon Rheault for first place in all-time points scored as a member of the Abbotsford Heat. Rheault played with the Heat in 2009-10, 2010-11, and 2011-12, suiting up for 131 games and recording 72 points. Walter only needs one point to surpass Rheault’s mark in 91 games played.
