Abbotsford, BC – The Abbotsford Heat invite fans to the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre on Friday, October 5th for the Red/White scrimmage. Puck drop is at 7:00 pm. This will be the final on-ice component of Training Camp.

The Heat open the 2012-13 AHL regular season on October 12th, and with no pre-season games the Red/White scrimmage will be the last opportunity for the 45 players in camp to make an impression. Final cuts are expected on Saturday October 6th.

Fans can attend the event free of charge, but are encouraged to make a donation to the Heat Foundation. The Heat Foundation has donated over $121,000 to local non-profit organizations in the past year. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis in sections 100-103 with no access to suite level seating. Parking will be available in the Premium lot based upon availability. A single concession offering food and beverage services will be open behind section 103.

The scrimmage will feature three 20-minute periods of stop time and will be governed by AHL officials governing play.

Media availability will commence approximately 10 minutes after the game with a post-game press conference. Three players will take part in the question and answer sessions, followed by Head Coach Troy G. Ward.

All training camp ice-times at the AESC leading up to the Red/White scrimmage are also open to the public, including the controlled scrimmage this afternoon at 3:30 pm. Fans can enter the building from the main entrance off of University Way.
